Aww, this is too sweet

When we met she hated people and would try to take your hand off if you got near her. Now when the weather is warm I will sleep next to her with her head on my chest. And yes horses snore. For one not to get up and to even sleep with you around.. that says a lot.

Well, looks like she has come a very long way... Now is she just a pony or a young horse?

Im told "american shetland" I dont know what different between that and a regular shetland but otherwise she looks like a mini arabian.

It is possible that she is a mix of the two.

American Shetlands are bred to be a lot more "typey" than the "Classic" Shetlands. They have better conformation, nicer heads, and are just all-around an improvement over the Classic Shetland type.

I'm a closet pony fan. American Shetlands are some of the most awesome ponies on the planet. :D

Thanks. We have had false labor about a week ago and we thought last night but... no. Once again when mares prove it will happen when she is good and ready.

Appearently she is or was registered with the american shetland pony club according to her documents. Thats about all I know. I have some of her family tree but I dont know how far back it goes.

In horse years shes in her early 20s I would guess. I just looked at her paperwork and she is 6 years old. Just had a birthday too. I will have to rember it so I can make her a carrot cake.

yup, still young XD I used to ride a paint horse that was 18 years old, a true gentleman, a bit ugly but with a wonderfull character =)

Good luck. Most of my horses are males and I dont breed them. I have 4 males a tenessee walker an apaloosa a paint and a clydesdale thougroughbred mix out on my great grandfathers land. 132 acres of good old pennsylvania countryside...My Mare Steeley {Named after the steelers} Is too old to breed and well too old for me to ride. I let my lil brother ride her on occasion but he is getting too large. She is a thouroughbred.

I have close to two dozen. Everything from minis to some Tenn walkers too. Ill have to post pictures of them and the babies. Our ten walker stallion got lose and had some fun so I have babies from them last year. our eldest, my mare mistress gave us a bay filly. She thinks I am daddy. I kindof had to pull her out when she didnt want to be born.

It's always remarkable to see this level of trust between species. :D

She... pretty much is my reason for living. I work ungodly hours, take care of the owner and try to keep this place running all for her and her friends... and that gives me my purpose.

I saw that you had a tragedy recently and the cross that you created had a profound effect on me. I don't know what it was honestly but it hit me in such a way that I haven't felt in forever. I used to be a devout Christian and I haven't been to church nor have I spoken to or about God in over a year, and sometimes I've tried to get that feeling back but it's failed. Tonight, I wasn't looking for it, but it found me and struck me so hard I almost was brought to tears. It was for your loss as well. I'm sorry about what happened though I do not understand it in it's entirety. I am really sorry.

its hardest to say everything happens happens for a reason including her death. And while I have no place as an arrogant human is to forgive God (and ask for the same in return) and let life move on. I have to say knowing there is an afterlife and she is there is one of the reasons keeping me going.
