thanks a lot
here i was wanting to sleep but instead im thinking of historical accurate armors and weapons I would personally use in a reality situation.
:| I was content with fantasy but oooh no. Making me think you fucker!
(If you're curious, it would be two maces with throwing axes [I love bows, but lets be frank, they would be impossible to resort to in a heat-of-battle scenario, and I'm half blind without glasses. I have dumb luck with chucking things, and I've thrown hatchets before. I was surprised with their accuracy and impact]. I love maces simply because they appeal to so many categories of my interests and know-how. I love weight-distribution types of combat, taken as a love out of Judo, and considering how much easier it is to maintain endurance with bludgeoning tools, since you need to pull your blows to keep the recoil from splitting your wrist in half, I feel much more satisfied with the "less is more" mentality for longer struggles.
As for armor, I frankly have no idea. I love big plate derps in fantasy, but I am nowhere near conditioned for that. If I were to wear anything, it might be some greave/knee protection, arm protection and a helmet. I figure a blow to the chest is going to do serious damage or kill me regardless, so why encumber myself further, even with a lighter chain vest. I might honestly find that more suitable but I don't know. Part of me finds that cliche "dohoho, European derping", part of me finds it inconvenient. If I were conditioned for it, I would commit to chain for certain though. I cannot stand the constriction of leather. It's a different feeling than the hanging weight of chain, or the carapace of plate, that feel much less strangulating on the body.
However, as a rule, I would probably omit the second weapon for a shield. There are far too many practicalities to a shield in prolonged warfare. Especially considering, without a shield, well, you're a dead man come arrows. Though for a chaotic skirmish, oh please please please. Gimme dem whakin' sticks!)
:I lol what the fuck i am going to go to bed
