That is so cute.

My first Australian Cattle Dog was the same way. She wanted to participate, even though she was already six years old when she came to live here. She would always ride in the passenger seat unless there was another person in the car. Her first trip through a car wash was priceless -- she was fascinated, then wanted to go through again! On long trips, she'd fall asleep on the seat -- but keep a paw on my leg.
