The reason behind the blade
The grand-admiral Doenès lately told her that she was the model of the entire nation, that she was the symbol of hope like her rapier was a symbol of a noble cause.
At that moment, Daji wasn't able to tell her the true reason of her weapon choice.
Who could have known that when Daji chose her weapon she was just a kid, or should she says a weakling. Unable to hold anything more than a light rapier, the young Daji was desperate not to be able to protect the only one she cares about - Bothan.
Training. Her instructor never went easy on her, but she was proud that the almighty Alpha Aesir taught her how to hold this weapon and to strike. She considered him as her father, and slowly, a new reason was aside of her prime reason to fight. It wasn't just Bothan that she wanted to protect, but even Aesir.
And Freya.
Over the years, over the decades, Daji built some reasons to fight for. It wasn't just Bothan and the Alphas, but some faces that she considered as her friends as well, the ones who fought with her against the tyranny of the humans.
- What is a rapier to the end? A thin blade to pierce through the armor of the opponent, the hit-and-run type. To parry and to dodge the attacks, to wait and find an overture, to strike and then to run away. And that's supposed to be a symbol of a noble attitude? What a lie. I'm just stabbing and then running away like a coward would do. But that's my duty to protect my nation, whatever this thin blade is tinted by blood.

Rapiers are meant for quick and highly decisive strikes. By that design, a single opening to such a weapon is all it takes to decide the victor. The skill to do so is beyond that of any other sword type in my opinion. Rapiers are about finess over power and strength. It's the ideal weapon for one gifted with speed and agility over physcial might.
The sword has two roads the peace and the war and 'cause is the soul of a warrior in hand a woman's sowing the light or the death, also cries you cry of blood is responsibility for with god and with the devil, because you can open the hell! but if you guards the sword is the door of the heaven.!
Then it is a good symbol for Daji. Not in the sense of just stabbing and running away, but in the sense that she does what she needs to do to protect her people even at the expense of her own emotional well-being.
It seems as if her younger version is seeing her future reflected in her rapier just as her older self sees her past.
