I found my first body today. It’s in front of one of the crypts in the cemetery. The only crypt that had a broken door. As his body shows no wounds and by the state of fear that you can still see on his face decomposed by time. I concluded that something scared him to death. Also considering that every door except this one has illusion magic. I have conclude that all door are trapped with a fear spell. I’ll have to remember to remove the magic from the doors before I open them... Doesn’t want that to also happen to me...
Otherwise, this traveller was obviously in a group of mercenary if I refer by his equipment and the raven mark etched on his leather armor and they was here not so long ago. Something close to a month, or two. I think. But I don’t understand why they didn’t burry him? Maybe they all died? No, I would have found the other. They must have left, taking what he had of value leaving only his equipment and the map of the village which wears annotations. The map can be useful, but I understand why they would leave it behind. It as no value other that knowledge about this place, but I’m glade they thought that. It will help me in my research of this place.
The map was obviously found here be the mercenary. It shows traces of burning that must have been done during the attack on the village, but still little wear other that that. If I understand correctly, the group seems to have searched many houses and the fortress, but they didn’t mark every house so I think they didn’t finish the job. I would at start by those house but the four places with the circle are a bit more intriguing especially the one with a “No go” sign. I think it’s the temple. I can see it from where I am, but I will kept it for the last. So, the three other circle are the crypt I just found. So that one is done, a stone structure of some kind. I think it’s the altars I encountered, and an area in the forest. Probably there camp. The two remaining are interesting, but I will start with the alter. Nan, it as nothing in it. Old bone but that’s all. They did open the coffin so maybe they already have taken the gold and jewellery before running away with it... I will check the other after i check the place marqued on the map
