I am in touch with some of the attendees to my Voice Acting Workshop panel, but not all of them. As you know, there's so many characters in the FBA that some voices only appear once and don't show up again for months, but I like to use the same voice when I can.
For instance, I tracked down
sydak to play Zindendel again after his performance from Episode #22.

YAY! The podcast we've been waiting for! And it was well worth the wait. Great job, B-Hop ^^
Glad you found someone else to voice as Faith, B-Hop. Wasn't trying too hard on that one, was I? And I still think I sounded horrible. Mostly because it was me hearing my own voice for the first time? *tilts head*

Yay! Thank you, Rai! I really hope next time I don't make everyone wait so long. I'm really upset it took me this long to make this episode!
I think Numora's voice at FA:U3 was perfect for Faith! I had an option of using your voice again for Sarah Lancaster, but
sexynekogirl21 stepped up to fill the role so I wouldn't have to use your voice twice.
And I don't know what you're talking about-- your performance is arguably the best one out of all the recordings I made at FA:U3! I think you sound fantastic!

I had some really outstanding voices at this panel! I feel really lucky to have had so many talented furries step up to the microphone. I think there's a special energy I get when I'm able to record the voices live instead of over Skype-- and it helps that the attendees to my panel were just so talented!
I use two tools. If I'm lazy, I used Call Recorder for Skype from ECamm.
http://www.ecamm.com/mac/callrecorder/
It's a terrific little tool. Very simple to use, never fails, records in perfect quality. The only hassle is that for some reason it only records QuickTimes, even if I'm only recording audio. So I have to convert the files afterwards before I bring it into my editing software. Still, it's simple and perfect.
What I usually do during my podcast recording, though, is wire up my Skype computer to my studio computer and record the audio off the output ports into Pro Tools. It requires a lot more wiring and preparation ahead of time, but it immediately puts the audio into the session I edit the podcast, and it gives the audience something to watch by having the waveform draw on the screen.
Feeding the audio from the Skype computer into my Pro Tools hardware is always a hassle, though. Since I have to feed the sound from my microphone both into the Skype computer so the caller can hear me AND into the studio computer so that UStream watchers can hear me, I usually have to rig up some pretty crazy wirings to make it work. Especially when I THEN have to send the audio out of the Skype computer into the inputs of the studio computer so I can record, too. It's a complicated mess, but I've figured it out-- it just means I scramble to plug in a bunch of wires before I go on the air.

You can always use the hard-recording method with any computer you like. There's no trick to that-- basically, you have one computer handle the Skype call and another computer handle recording the sound off the computer making the Skype call. That's how I do things, and that's totally independent of software, computer, anything but just having something that will do the job.
But as for a Skype add-on, I've not used them, of course, but there are Windows-based add-ons, too.

Nor can I!
Did you like the commercial? That was something new for me, but I've been wanting to try new things, and it was fun building a promo like that. If people like it, I figure I can make promos for the Furrywood podcast down the hall, maybe even real ones for furry cons and artists looking for commissions!

You really think so? Honestly, after hearing it i kept thinking to myself i could have spoken with a slightly deeper tone. i didn't want to sound too monotone and melodramatic at the beginning. i tried to pick up my voice a bit at the end but with 20/20 hindsight i keep thinking i missed it back there...
Yow-- been behind on my responses here...
Thanks, Phott-Ott! I was so impressed with the talent I found at FA: United 3. Sometimes there's a shyness to the room with attendees coming up to the mic nervous about performing in front of others. I didn't have that problem at FA:U3-- well, except for maybe one person. But it was really awesome what a positive bunch of furries I had in my panel who were just applauding and encouraging toward each person at the mic. It was a ton of fun.
And yes, I do owe everyone a lot of outtakes! I'm way behind on that!

Thanks so much, Coops! I really appreciate you attending my panel, and thank you for your awesome performances! You've got a superb voice, and you did a great job voicing the characters.
And thanks for the compliments while in suit! It was awesome to have Fender approve of my panel!

Carl! Hey there, thanks for commenting! I've put up a link for you in the credits. And thank you, I'm really glad to know you had a good time at my panel. I'll let you know if I need Ray Rodin to threaten T. Matt again.
Yeah, I'm learning a lot about remote voice recording doing this panel, and that combination of microphone and preamp I used at FA: United 3 is just punchy! I love what it does, everybody sounds so electric and energetic-- but it's not exactly a flat, pure recording. I tried using a different preamp at the panel after this was that was much flatter and more accurate-- but I kind of like the sound of this one better!
You did an outstanding job with the character. What I love most about your performance is how you punctuated your words to sound really snappy. And there's great characterization-- I can totally see those words coming from the mouth of a ticked-off rat.
