This is what I get for staying up till after midnight reading Wheel of Time..
Im filling up this little leather book I own with random sketches, random worlds.. someday someone will find it and wonder what the heck its for. Which i think is a fun idea ^^ This is a fantasy world Ive had in my head for a while, its not connected to anything in particular. Maybe DnD, maybe Wheel of Time or Discworld.. but not really. Just influenced by them. Incidentally, Lantern Pass also previously featured in this sketch. They're in the same universe. Rift is the last city in The Waste, and Lantern Pass is the border crossing into the west. Its where the Ember and Shatter rivers split, only to join up again on the coast at High Ember, the nations capital.

Wow otter, this is amazing! You have a very detailed way of mapping things out. And, if I may, it really reminds me of pittsburgh! City of bridges, the river that splits? :) Just teasin' you.
And I didn't know you read the Wheel of Time! I'm only halfway through the second book, myself, but I have them all here waiting to be read.

Many thanks.. I love dinotopia and it for sure has influenced my work.. I still haven't tackled watercolor like Gurney but that'd be the next step! And I've always loved text, I can't help but make words ornate. My favorite is the t in Eastern :3
