[LD - Y02W01D4] Nerian Sportif 01
I have been told that I should be drawing more of these buggers and I'm like sure, why not. So there we go, something sportive.
Sketch obviously unfinished.

Aw you remembered all my bugging you. X3
Hm, the angle on legs seems a little off, I think that's because of unfinished shading/toning on his/her right leg. The position of the left leg seems to make it pop out a little more but again this may be due to unfinished toning but it might be a bit of a perspective problem looking at his/her knee. Then AGAIN their upper legs are much larger than ours (like Lemurs, made for jumping) so I suspect what looks like a problem of perspective is just a matter of proportion being different to that of humans, and the pose/perspective not being able to convey that well. The bow around the waist is a little too perfect to look realistic but I'm thinking you knew that and it's a stylistic choice. The dark coloring on her/his right arm makes it look a little strange but that's no doubt due to rushing.
As for positives all your usual strengths are in full force here. I love the coloring/toning where you had time to implement it in places like left arm/upper torso (though maybe that could use a little work to define the armpit more?) and feet. The use of lighting with the rings on the tail is just awesome. And your use of little details, from the crunches around the waist to the tufts of hair on the ears, add to the believability and stylishness of the work. If you finish this one I believe it'll be another solid entry in your portfolio. And if not it's still a fun picture with a neat race in an eye catching pose :3 win-win at this sport.

First off, lemme say that this drawing has some really good energy. It's fun to look at. There are a few things that just don't sit right with me. The first being the foreshortening on the right arm in the background. I don't know if it's the musculature or what, but it just doesn't sit right in perspective for me. The next would be his/her left eye, this is kind of unfair for traditional medium, but it's not something you can rework till it's right easily. Last one is simply a style critic involving the positioning of the outstretched arm. I'm not sure I'd have gone with a straight arm. It's too unnatural for a figure in motion in my opinion. I would have bent the arm and hair and I think you'd alleviate some foreshortening guess work by doing so.
Great drawing overall. I can tell you really had fun creating it!
