Joggin through the steppes,
It's a shame, at least in my opinion, the Conan is one of the laziest and blandest settings of its sort though it really lets itself down in regards to the worldbuilding, tones and themes and the book writing is rather dull to me in some places, and uncomfortably indulgent in others

I actually curious now, earlier it was mentioned Oli has some kind of military training thus there ability to easily dodge and remain somewhat composed during the giant death bug incident.... I wonder if Oli would have some vague proficiency in the ability to 'stab stuff'....... Why that actually feel me with terror?
Fear the new terror of the dragonscape? Oli the STABBY!
Though in all seriousness there stick looks more like a walking staff with a sharp end. I'm guessing the end has been fire hardened wood? The item looks good with Oli appearance hope to see it implemented in the comic.

I mean its not a weapon Oli would of received training with but I am sure that a spear would be a weapon they would need to learn how to use it well, especially considering some of the weird bits of drekir agility and ergonomics.
Yeah its a fire hardened sharp stick, its pretty straightforward though still plenty dangerous enough

Depends, if Oli training has anything to do with handling a firearm at one stage, then bayonets handling/basic skill would have been covered. (Bayonets basically being short spears for melee use when fitted to a gun.) :/
I’m actually surprised you know of that fire harden wood trick :3 your level of research continues to astound me.

Well yes a bayonet is basically a spear conversion kit, though Bayonets are barely in practice today and I figure that trend is gonna continue into the 2100s.
My dad grew me up to be a prepper which got me started on bushcraft, which while I don't align with at all I still have a lot of practice and passion for primitive technology, bushcraft and the sort. Of course I also do a lot of research on Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Chalcolithic cultures, technology and whatnot

Barely in practice? Pfffttt they are still standard kit for all armies and mandatory training, the actual bayonets however have changed from a small sword to a small multi purpose knife that can be attached to a rifle. :3
Wow I’m kinda jealous a little, you got some first hand experience.

I am mostly referring to practical applications, as far as my research goes there have only been 3 successful bayonet charges in 20 years, military doctrine is not based on the bayonet and there are other forms of CQC that have been adopted by various nations in leu of a bayonet because bayonets are both too short range in modern firefights and too long and cumbersome in modern urban warfare.
