I was trying to go for an opalized effect but it didn't work out quite right, so this happened instead.
Unintended but a happy accident considering I can just retry the initial idea later.

Well now that you mention it, I can definitely see the opalescent colors, so you're definitely on the right track there. Gemstones and rare minerals are a beautiful challenge to depict.
