This is where the West Virginia Infantry stopped the Confederate advance on July 2. If you saw the hill the Confederates got pretty far on it.

Been at that spot and yes, considering how far from "The Angle" this monument is, it's amazing.
My wife and I did a Battlefield tour on July 2nd this year which walked the very ground the Confederates did during Pickett's Charge. It was a pretty surreal experience.
