One of the seven speices of dragon that I populated a world of mine with - I keep meaning to do some good drawings of the rest of them, but it keeps getting back burnered. This particular variety lives primarily in desert or arid regions and prefers to burrow into the sand to wait for something to wander by than use the energy to go looking for prey. Unless a noisy human caravan wanders by - who can ignore a tastey buffet like that?

I love this species design, if only because it's so drastically different than my usual dragons. I think they had some kind of poison in their teeth, their scales are so fine that it's hard to pick out the individual ones, and their wings are only feathered on the underside. I have no idea how practical that would be for actual flight, but I thought it looked nifty.
