I was very unexpectedly given an extremely tiny baby chameleon by a mutual friend of mine and
scythemantis' in Maryland; an amazing woman named Lisa who kept many, many amazing exotic animals and always had something witty and charming to say. I miss her tons, but I feel honored she would entrust me with one of her babies!
She is a veiled chameleon, thus far unnamed, only about 2" long and a few weeks old. This batch of chameleons, I was told, had stunted growth for reasons I'm not sure of. This is going to likely be my most challenging pet undertaking yet, as they are very difficult to care for. The caresheets I've read are very intimidating and tend to vary vastly; I can only hope I am able to provide her with everything she needs to be healthy and happy!

i love them. my sister's ex had a male and female. he kept them with some anoles thinking it would be alright but when the chammies started getting larger, the anoles started disappearing. he walked in on the discovery of how that was occurring. must have been good protein for them. they both lived to a very old age!
That's a gorgeous animal. I love reptiles because they have such an intricate skin "design" with different color and size scales each part of the body. The chameleon's eye is unique because its encased in a cone of skin that rotates on all directions... and each eye moves independently from the other.
