Bobby Kotick is one of the most overpaid CEO's in the world, which is actually an accomplishment of disproportionate income and wealth accruement when you consider just how many CEO's are in the competition.
Most folks know that I used to love Starcraft, and no do not, and haven't for a long while after many years of fandom appreciation. It was where I got my start doing silly cartoon fanworks, and it's a shame what happened to the IP, Blizzard as a company, and most importantly: the workers, key talent, and unpaid interns who were harmed along the way to this terrible apex of utter insolence to the human spirit.
If you're not aware: at the time of posting Blizzard in particular has one of if not the most well documented sexual harassment and abuse cases levied in its direction. The shit that comes with receipts is almost always a fraction of the total heinous shit serial abusers when it comes to male dominated fields particularly in the tech industry where a 'bro culture' emanates around virtually all in and out of office gatherings.
This is after a full 13 years of Activision's ownership and management of Blizzard, where it systemically pruned key staff and talent, created awful conditions for new hires, and ultimately bowed to the suppression of freedom of expression at the behest of the Chinese Government -- despite being an American Corporation.
Fuck Bobby Kotick, Fuck Activision, Fuck Blizzard, Fuck Lootboxes, and hopefully somehow enough damage is done by these years of blunders that Bobby-boy can get kicked off the throne and forced to actually use his fucking RIDICULOUSLY VAST WEALTH to be a garbage human being somewhere far away from any industry or leadership position.
Oh, and also Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of our Time. Okay I think that should be enough to have my person-hood blacklisted if I were to ever get into the games industry lmao
