I was listening to a random playlist when I heard a song I had never heard before. It’s by Imagine Dragons and is, in fact, called “I’m So Sorry.” The second I heard the chorus verse, motivation smacked me in the face and I drew this in 4 hours. The meaning behind every panel illustrates different perspectives during different events. The last panel with Abaddon likely holds the most weight to the lyrics. Matching the word “stepfather” with Enigma (who I haven’t drawn in a year) also holds a strong point, it being the fact that he really is Phantom, Akuma, and Birash’s stepdad, or dad #2, as they address him occasionally.

Back to the last panel before anyone asks, no, that is not blood coming from Abby’s eyes. No one really knows exactly what it is, only that it pours from the eyes of those being under direct control from Apex, hence why his eye is red and not black. Whenever Apex thinks Abaddon is doing something he doesn’t like, he’ll control him personally and force him to relive his most traumatic memory as punishment and “motivation.”
It also ties into why Phantom’s eyes match Abaddon’s when he’s using his own mind control.
