Strong winds were making planes have to do low approaches into the airport, so it made this trip to the park rather interesting.
NWA DC-9-31 #9927 is (as far as I know) No longer in service, but when this photo was taken, it was NWA's oldest DC-9 in service. 42 years old.
9927 was ex-Eastern Airlines DC-9-30 #N8920E
This plane was replaced by a Delta Airlines DC-9-50.

This will probably sound unusual, but I still see a Delta DC-9-50 in service here.
I do kind of miss seeing this one though, and another I saw in NWAs old colors from time to time.
I remember seeing some DC-9s in TWA colors as well, but that was 10 years ago.
I hope you get a chance to see one someday.
