I recorded this for
ahundred who likes this song a lot.
This was made famous in most furries minds by Jessica rabbit though it was a pretty big hit for Peggy Lee back in the day.
I really loved the opportunity to play the fretless bass that I have been borrowing from a friend even though I am not the best at it.
I meant this to sound like a live jazz trio.
Center: Rythm guitar and vocals recorded at the same time using one mic.
Right: Fretless electric bass being run directly into my M-audio Fast track
left: Lead guitar played on a Rainsong Graphite guitar and mic'd at the neck joint.

I like that version better than Peggy lees to be honest :) That movie probably had a lot to do with me finding the random years later as well. It was either that or oliver and company that was my first movie. I do remember (just barely) seeing it a drive in theater when I was a very tiny fox.
very nice work...i miss hearing that song...need to find the original again. Keep up the awesomeness! Only suggestion i would make is to up the bass level a touch. i could hear it in there, but i couldnt really 'feel' the bass in it. just a little suggestion, take it as you will =^-^=~~
hehe, I hear you this song needs a smoky jazz bass behind it. I wish I could provide it.
To be honest I probably mixed it that low subconsciously since I believe e my bassing skills to be quite sub par.
I may actually try recording something similar to this at some point soon and practicing abit more on it before hand. I have always loved the Dido song "my life" and have really wanted to try doing a version of it. This would also have the added benefit of forcing me to find a good jazz setting for my organs :D

At least you wont have to worry about your ceiling creaking. the higher you can get the better your chances are of getting a quiet recording. I live and record in a basement were i have to deal with EVERYBODYS base cause it all goes through the ground and into my walls and the train yard down the street and my roommates waking on the kitchen above me and or taking a shower and causing the drainpipes in my studio wall to make a waterfall noise. Its a wonder I ever get any kind of quality recordings to work with. Even then I normally end up knocking out everything below 40 htz just to be sure I'm not getting any weird bass harmonics in my tracks.
ouch >,> well, my house is so old that sound just goes through all the walls. Usually i do my recordings at school in the recital hall when it is available so i can be in the only "soundproof" room on campus...its not really soundproof, but i usually go at odd hours when not many people are in the building still.
