Joke comment aside I do really like this. The way the jaws cross the edges of the canvas means the image is literally framed by teeth, which is so claustrophobic, you can almost feel the image collapsing. It also denies the viewer any accurate scale other than 'big', and we aren't allowed to see what species the jaws belong to, which lets the imagination run wild. But I wonder, is it even a mouth at all? The red in the center could be a sculpture or plume of smoke, and the white shards could be rocks, might the instant recognition of a predatory mouth just be a trick our instinctive brain plays on us, like seeing faces in a cloud?
