Personally, I tend to like loud designs as they stand out more. As long as the colors don't clash in an unpleasant way, vibrant pallets can work really well.

I understand that you were trying to lend advice to the artist to help streamline designs, but some people just like to design things that stand out. Sometimes 'loud' is part of a style unto itself.

End of the day, it all comes down to personal taste. I am fine with either side of the spectrum. It's a lovely design, with colors that work well together while also being very eye-catching.

It's not that you've lost touch or anything. It's just that loud designs like this are likely not your style usually. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
