As their romance properly blossomed and the pair began to spend more of their time together, Roland found himself moving past infatuated and thoroughly into addicted to Amadi. The feeling of his cool, smooth scales beneath the mongoose's touch, the hot wind of his breath, the hints of spice and musk in his scent, the incredible range of pleasured sounds his throat produced... Everything about the cobra was intoxicating, entrancing, perfect. Of all the loves he held in his heart, Amadi was the one that uniquely filled the hole within it. Their relationship was far more than closest friendship, their intimacy even more than an expression of affection and love. Roland knew, without a doubt, that Amadi was his mate, the one whose soul his own would join with in deepest union, becoming one together.
Times like these were some of his favorites; slow, quiet moments where they could pull and tangle together, bodies intertwining in a mirror of their spirits. Sharing his warmth with the reptile, while Amadi wore a favorite sweater claimed from Roland's rather small wardrobe. Breathing him in, completely overwhelmed with feelings of love and belonging and joy. His love, his life, his prince of the desert, in his arms and heart forever. There was hardly a thing more he could ask for.

These two handsome guys are so happy together, and it really shows through here. The expressions and poses are so wonderful and communicative, the mood is absolutely heartwarming. And that background is just so cozy! It captures the feeling of their desert home very well indeed.
