Yeah, I saw that, and liked it. It is simply so surprisingly sparse for a tale so widely known, and praised.
I like aspects of the 2020 retelling of it, such as the restoration of Dahl's unhappy conclusion.
Also, there would surely have had to be a first victim of mouse maker, one for experimental purposes, and we got it. A girl. The first one we see is the second, for demonstrative purposes, and the third, the protagonist and hero accidentally became a witness to the witches crimes and conspiracies.
