Many look to the shield as a simple defensive tool. Some even disdain it completely, far preferring the power of a two-handed weapon or the speed of dual-wielding. Those who know the shield, though, know it can be just as effective a weapon as any blade. Whether bashing aside a weapon to create an opening to attack, dazing an enemy by smacking them upside the head with a heavy slab of metal, or interrupting whatever wicked ritual the evil mage is trying to conduct, the shield bash has many useful applications in combat. And it sounds oh so satisfying, too.
