It’s Nightshade! In 3D!
The very talented
created this amazing model, imbuing all the sass and confidence of this charming jackal. Please go check out their work.
This is just a teasing glimpse of her. There’ll be more to see soon!
In the coming months I am going to seek out animators and voice talent to produce a series of videos and possibly VR projects with Night. The model will NOT be publicly distributed, so not just anybody can tinker with it.
I have some big plans for her, and if all goes well, I’ll be looking to make other characters of mine into 3D models as well. I hope you’ll enjoy what’s in store! :D
And last but not least, a big thanks to
for assisting me with Blender posing and rendering!

Sounds good to me. A big thumbs up!
One of the things I find interesting about 3D furry art is how fur is depicted. When the end product is a 3D print, fur needs to be simplified. However, when the model is used as an end unto itself, fur can be more detailed. Of course, more realistic fur requires a LOT more computing power. Stylistically drawings have simplified the render of fur. Many 3D artists follow this style. A few 2D artists attempt to depict fur as actually furry, but it does increase the complexity of the art.
In the end, a plot based character, like yours, are less about the how they are depicted graphically and more about how the image fits the personality. So some details are less important.

Yeah, personally I prefer a more stylized approach. If there gets to be too much detail (like Detective Pikachu, or some of the Space Jam 2 characters) it looks too distracting or uncanny valley to me. So to me, a good stylized art design will always feel 'timeless'. Plus, my style is more anime/toony so a realistic design doesn't really match X3
Oh, yes. It's up to each artist, but too much detail can be distracting. Personally, I'd rather an artist have a stylized 'clean' design than one that is cluttered. It takes a good eye and some experience to make realistic fur work in an image without seeming like a gimmick.
Of course, companies like Pixar feel they need to have realistic fur because it's cutting edge, and the frame rate of film means the viewer doesn't get a chance to be distracted by too much detail. In static art, it's easy to overdo it.

Looking forward to see what you end up getting done! I'd even enjoy putting our models together in a scene.

here's some of them. They're posted on Twitter and Bluesky since FA does not have a video feature:
