A while ago I was doodling some initial concepts for illustrating the folktale of The Town Musicians of Bremen as recorded by The Brothers Grimm. I didn't get beyond these initial sketches, but I just now found them while looking through old sketchbooks.
I think I'll go through with it now, as it's still interesting to me to interpret the story.
Notably, despite the title of the tale, the animals never do arrive to Bremen to make their fortune.

Maybe you should go ahead and compose/remix stuff you think the band would come up with, and come up with fake merchandise! Or something. To me it seems like it'd be a really amusing creative project, if only because the idea of designing an entire product line/album by a band populated by nonexistent members seems really FUN.

Well, the notion of a fictitious musical troupe predates the Gorillaz considerably (including the Bremen Town Musicians) but see also: The Monkees, The Partridge Family, etc. But yeah, arguably Gorillaz have done it most successfully. I'm not personally capable of producing a one-man punk band with screeching rooster vocals, anyway ;)
Aww, shucks. :< I still think you'd do a kickass job if you ever, I dunno, collaborated with someone else on it! >D
As it is, I hope we get to see at least a CD cover, and an official band shirt design at least. I would totally draw groupies in official fan merch. And by groupies, I mean me dragging my boyfriend along to one of their shows. ;P
