Day four of Smaugust, let's GO!!!!

Okay, Baby Blue Dragons are not actually born blue... not quite. Compared to all other baby dragons, their colors and patterns differ the most when compared to their parents. Their somewhat greenish coloration and lighter markings help them hide in shallow water and among aquatic vegetation... which is especially good when the parents go out hunting for food and have to leave their offspring at home.

Compared to other baby dragons, Blue Dragons are the most self-reliant and are excellent at taking care of themselves for short periods of time. Still, with that in mind, their natural camouflage is invaluable to them, since any other predator would gladly remove them from the environment (thus eliminating a future threat).
