This is the third art pic of my OC Cetus Krakken, depicted in one of his personnel hobbies. That's right, it's martial arts. But something relating to spear or staff fighting most of all.


The idea at first was that he had a hand in dealing with the use of harpoon spears due to his relation to ocean stuff. Although he wouldn't use it much on other sea creatures unless for self defense, but just to have something to twirl around and poke at thin air with. Which is why he evolved it into practicing with martial arts pole weapons as both for exercise and for his fascination with pole objects. And because he can easily whirl a stick around with his tentacled arms and made into an art on itself. And maybe also to fend off any denizens of Hell for trying to either mug or murder him on a daily basis.

These sketches are minor at best, and a reason for me to draw polearms again. It seems like I needed to go pass drawing weapons by themselves and to draw them being wielded by someone. I still have plans to feature that stuff in one of my original comics someday, especially with spear weapons, but perhaps maybe drawing a random OC doing that will help practice drawing that somehow. Then again, I also want to display other 'hidden abilities' that Cetus has on the next drawings of him.
