So this one took me a while from sketch to publication, but this piece is pretty significant to me. Quarantine has given me lots of time to reflect on my identity and the directions I've taken in life, and the possibilities of the future. One thing is certain, that being 'Athiest' is not sufficient enough to describe me.

I am a Satanist, unequivocally and proudly.

I challenge the doctrines and values of the world, questioning the morals of a society stained with backwards Judeo-Christian values. I declare my mind and body emancipated from the grip of spirituality and so-called "enlightenment". I hold myself responsible for choosing my own destiny. I own my nature, delivering myself the carnal pleasures which bring me unbridled gratification. I choose to live a vibrant and exciting life, over a cold and empty 'spiritual' existence.

Satan, represented by the serpent, tempts Percy with fruit from the tree of knowledge. In the biblical story, Adam and Eve are tempted much the same, and upon eating the fruit gain knowledge of their own free will. God, disturbed by his creation's realization, expels Adam & Eve and punishes Satan. While interpretations of this story may vary the point remains the same: God is intolerant to disobedience. God wants his creations completely subservient to him.

Complete subservience is slavery.

The fruit represents the writings of Anton Szandor Lavey, the founder of modern-day Satanism. The serpent represents the whisperings of Satanic philosophy and knowledge which brought me to them. Reading the Satanic bible and patiently digesting the words, I discovered the rational philosophy being identical to my own. Thus, Satanism is the truest embodiment of my identity.
