My Weasyls More Active Than my DA

There are More active people on Weasyl than DeviantArt right now. I just checked my Artist Notifs on DA since about April (that's been 3 months). I'm watching 614 people on DA, and 429 on Weasyl. I clear my Notifs on Weasyl DAILY. Today I deleted off DA 20 deviations (I think I cleared them once in between), ~30 journals, about 20 polls, and about 30 status updates. THATS IT. That's IIIT. ANd i've been watching new artists on DA too.
DeviantARt is actually REALLY dead. It's insaine how it got Killed in such a drastic way. HOLY HELL. Like, to run an artsite that was the largest in the world to drag through the mud where it is less active than my ALTS is just crazy.
Like, I'm not talking about favs, but people who are posting. I do get favs still on DA, but everything else is just abysmal. there's no interaction, no journals and stories, and I don't see much new art as you can see. Most people who interact with me on DA are folks who also interact with me on all the other places I reside as well (like cross post commenting). The views count are fake, because my favs haven't changed to much since they pooped stuff up taking into account folks who left. I'm pretty sure they're counting views like advertisers do "It appeared on soemone's screen" not "They clicked on it to view in large".
But yeah, as a watcher, I'm getting more content from the people I watch on Weasyl than I am Deviantart. That says quite a lot. I get more content from people I watch on Newgrounds than DA, too, and I follow far less people on newgrounds. DA's atmosphere really makes me quite sad.
SO, If you'd like to watch me on Weasyl: https://www.weasyl.com/~uluri
If you don't have an account, I'd be glad to vouch for ya for making a new one. they have an Anti-spambot thing in place where active users need to "vouch" for new users. I haven't seen a single spambot in a year because of this. :3 It's real nice. Just send me a note on one of the sites I link at the bottom of my page here. ((Here is a video about weasyl I made a few years ago: https://youtu.be/E6geITXJzWc ))
OH, and if You got a Newgrounds: https://uluri.newgrounds.com/
I got one too. My Newgrounds has also been more active than DA as well. <u<
I have some others I actively post linked belowin the "My Art Sites" section.

dA has as its only advantage that older art is easier to find via search engines. I found your social media icons through Google in there while searching for such stuff.
But otherwise dA was destroyed by the extreme bloat the site had, the loads and loads of ads (I still remember some years ago when they put the ads that covered a literal half of the screen, and when they had ads with malware for some days) and the new design that seems like people really didn't like. Back then they had the monopoly on art sites, people used to go to dA because, as you said, it was the biggest one. Today there's a lot of other much better websites to post your stuff, and most of them do let you to build an audience.

More than sites gettng too popular I think it was more about letting ads and monetization get in the way of art enjoyment.
I know my experience wasn't everyone's, but in 2012 loading a single deviantart page could take me 30-45 seconds. Sure, my internet was bad and i had a potato computer. But other sites (like this one) loaded much more quickly.

I used to think of dA as my main hub for looking for art, but once they started pushing Eclipse against the will of I think every single person I talked to who uses the site, its future was already in question. deviantArt really did kill itself with Eclipse. They gutted almost all of the useful features and features that made the site customizable. Everything is totally unintuitive and it just looks like the whole site is designed as if it's only meant to be used by mobile users now. It sucks to watch a place I used to love so much go down the drain because of developers who think they know better than the users what the users would like.
Da used to be my second most active artsites behind FA here. Now I wonder to even keep up on it sometimes. Right now it's use is as Cuddles above said is that Google can bring the art up so I can be found.
Das layout is def very not great. I actively avoid it because of my arm injured that makes clicking and scrolling hurt. There's so much more clicking and scrolling. DA hurts my arm so much
