Hannibal is born in the Mdogo Mob to a pair of dominant meerkats named Morowa and Kiros. He had a fairly normal puphood, learning how to forage and spot predators and babysitting his younger siblings on occasion. But from and early age, it was apparent that something about him was...off. He was much more aggressive than his other siblings and often picked fights with them. His parents didn't think much of it at first, but it got worse when, one day, he was attacked by a hawk while on sentry duty. He lost his left eye and took a nasty fall as a result, but by some miracle Hannibal survived. The fall that he took from his watch post must have messed him up internally as his natural aggression only got worse from there, and after a while Hannibal ended up leaving the Mdogo Mob for good. Whether he left on his own accord or was kicked out by his family who feared that he might hurt them is anyone's guess.
Most meerkat mobs that Hannibal encountered wanted nothing to do with him, either already having a dominant male or just being too scared to approach him. But Hannibal's travels eventually lead him to the Komandoo Mob, a mob being lead by a female named Nikita. He was a vicious brute, and she was a ruthless female who wasn't afraid to get her paws dirty, so it was no surprise that the two of them became mates. It was like a match made in Hell.
Under their leadership, the Komandoo grew to be a very large mob, feared by the other meerkat mobs in the area. Hannibal and Nikita often leading the mob in raiding the burrows of their neighbors or engaging in fights with them if they were to cross paths while foraging. During one such raid, their oldest son Ozi ended up being killed by the Udevu while they were defending their own. Being his favorite out of his multiple children, Hannibal was both crushed and outraged by his death, and he and Nikita wasted no time in seeking retribution from the Udevu for taking their son from them. He and his mate lead frequent attacks on the Udevu before they have no choice but to abandon their territory, allowing the Komandoo to claim it for themselves.
Hannibal's reign came to an unexpected end one night when he suddenly died in his sleep, leaving behind a devastated Nikita.
Hannibal was designed for me by KalahariMeerkatfan on DA. (Original image). He is of course intended to Meerkat Manor's Hannibal, who was portrayed by a male named Jim Bob. I can definitely see why his name was changed for the show, since Jim Bob isn't exactly the most intimidating name out there.
