This weekend is my step-father-in-law's birthday, and he really likes lighthouses, so hubby and I decided I would do a painting for him. This was based on a photo by http://skorpeyon.deviantart.com , who is a fantastic photographer, by the way!
The scanner didn't pick up all the orange shading on the actual lighthouse, or how awesome the rocks actually look, or the hint of purple in the sky. Ugh... I swear, this is why I don't do much traditional media anymore. But this was fun and quick to do. I wanted to stick with very basic colors, so I used mainly primaries and then mixed them for secondary accents. The black was done with my Pentel pocket Brush Pen once the paint was all dry.
