When the 104th and 501st find themselves in places where artillery isn't effective, Chanticleer and his clone captain Tayle join Anakin, Ahsoka, and Rex in close-quarter combat against Disney troops and battle droids. Because Disney equipped its troops and its battle droids on loan from the Separatists with submachine blasters, and because lightsabers aren't as effective in tight spaces, Anakin custom-built a submachine blaster for Chanticleer, placing the mechanism inside an M1928 Thompson submachine gun. Anakin also built another submachine blaster for Tayle, and is trying to have them mass-produced for the clone army and the Americartoon troops in the 104th. Here, we see Chanticleer firing his submachine blaster at a couple of droids in an entrenched position.

The submachine blaster can hold 500 blaster shots in its drum magazine or 320 shots in its stick magazine, and fires at 800 rpm, giving it an advantage over other Republic blasters. When the bolt slides back, excess tibanna gas is vented out as opposed to cartridge casings. Other than that, the blaster retains all the other features of a Thompson. The barrel is air-cooled, employing the pre-existing cooling fins there. The stock is removable, and the vertical grip can easily be swapped out for a horizontal grip for shoulder firing.
