My buddy Titan

I smiled happily to myself as I lay nestled back on what felt like a sea of fluffiness, enjoying the plush, velvety soft cushioned top of the old ottoman beneath me, by far one of the comfiest things I'd slept on in a long time, and the first time I'd felt truly safe for even longer. my arms propped up under my head with one ratty leg resting atop the other, just relaxing and not a care in the world for the moment, enjoying the respite from a long day while I would brux and chitter softly while I sat there thinking on all sorts of things, but mostly about being here in this old house, how I’d got here and my life as a little rat. Although it had ups and downs, most of the time I enjoyed being the size I was. for one thing, everything made for the more standard sized folk of society was for me gigantic, or sometimes monstrously huge in comparison which could at times make for a lot of fun. Baths were to us smaller critters like swimming pools, phones being as big as the largest TV, and I never had any trouble sitting anywhere with my larger friends, be that sat on a lap, riding on a shoulder (or back, if the friend had four legs) or snuggled safely away in a pocket..although of course, with all that fun came a great amount of danger for someone so small..and especially a little rat on their own, as I’d been just a few days ago..

My smile began to slowly drop at the thought of those cold and lonely nights I’d spent outside and was slipping faster with each memory that crept its way into my mind, and as they did I instinctually started to curl up a little and hold my tail for comfort at those thoughts of being alone out there, or sometimes even worse, fearing I wasn't.. but as I began to think about all that, my ears suddenly then perked and twitched as I heard a set of approaching footfalls on the old wooden floorboards, each rickety plank creaking some with age as my bright yellow eyes opened up while my smile grew anew, ratty whiskers twitching with every curious little sniffy sniff my nose gave now as I then stretched with a lazy yawn and sat myself up just in time to see my much, much bigger friend Titan walking into the room, a black furred german shepherd who was of course, huge compared to my little ratty self.

We’d not known each other all that long yet, but that didn’t matter one bit to me, and his friendship already meant so very much. that big, gentle and ever so kind and caring canine had found me when I was out and living rough with no shelter, and had no other ratties or anyone else to come home to after looking for food and somewhere to curl up for the evening.. I’d pretty much walked right into the big guy late one night while out looking for something to eat, bumping right into his front paws and falling flat on my butt.. as he looked over me at first I remember how scared I felt, staring into those jaws, the feeling of that hot, steamy breath rolling over me, the sight of those teeth and that soft, warm tongue as I’d began to shiver all the while, thinking just how funny it was in a sad sort of way, that I had been looking for food and now I was about to become a rat sized snack myself, hoping that maybe that I’d at least taste good.. but..well, that’s not what happened..he could have so easily gulped me down and made a meal out of me then and there if he’d wanted..but instead as I sniffled and closed my eyes, I heard him speak to and then sniff over me, at first just sort of frozen from that, taken completely off guard by it before he brought out a surprised gasp and squeak from me as I then felt that big canine nose press to my chest, followed right after by that big slobbery tongue licking over me too as I'd gasp and start to giggle and squeak, more than a little ticklish it turned out. He checked up on me, reassured me, teased me, played and spoke with me, and most of all, kept me safe and made me feel better. He brought me back and gave me a home right here with him, and I felt so safe with him and cared for.. he truly was a wonderful friend and the goodest boy I’d had the pleasure to meet.

Giving a happy smile to him and a loving brux too as I looked up to the big canine, while he in turn looked down to me returning the smile with a friendly grin of his own, the kind that only a canine can do that made my fur fluff in delight, he then sat himself down into the large and cosy chair of his next to the stool I was sat on, the chair just as old as it creaked a little while he relaxed and got himself comfy too as all the while I let out a gentle sigh and idly smiled as I looked up to Titan while we sat there together now, thinking so happily to myself as I did, that there was little better than being in the company of such a good and wonderful friend..before I noticed the rather cheeky twist to that smile of his..

seeing those eyes half lidded but full of playfulness that only grew at seeing my curiosity and shyness at being given such a teasing look, tilting my head a little to the side as I gazed up to him once more in turn, wondering just what he could be thinking..what he was planning as I knew that look all to well, my smile becoming more timid before my own eyes would shoot wide, a little gasp leaving me as I watched that playful smile of his growing as he then began lifting up one leg and foot being briskly followed by the other, before placing each in turn right down before me on that footstool, making me bounce and wobble just a little on the cushion top as I gasped, while Titan reclined back a little more, each upright foot before me easily a whole head taller than me, if not more as I sat there before them. My eyes were now unable to leave either of those big canine feet paws as I just looked on over them, gazing over those soft pads and furred digits as I could feel a deep blush growing beneath my fur, which began to fluff with excitement while my little heart was racing as I noticed I was shivering with delight. I wondered for a moment, how did he know?..I had a..real weakness for paws and feet..maybe it was something I’d said and let slip he’d picked up on..maybe he caught me looking at those big paws as we’d walked along..or maybe he liked the idea of teasing me with them and seeing how I'd react..it didn’t matter now, as it was clear how excited I was, and he knew just how much he could tease me with them.

My blush at this point was now truly breaking out beneath my fur, like a spontaneous rash as I watched Titan so playfully flex, curl and splay those wonderful big toes, his playfully smug smile unchanged as he watched me the whole time, while every second was making my excitement grow now and my fur fluff out all the more, eager and soft little hums leaving me followed by a few short bruxes and chitters after what had felt like an age staring at those big, wonderfully snug looking feets.. that had in actuality been a matter of moments, I just couldn’t hold myself back any longer, another delighted brux and happy little squeak leaving me as my arms spread as wide as they could go as I moved right up to and then would pretty much throw my little body against those wonderfully large feet paws, my eyes falling closed as I cuddled and snuggled my body to one, the most loving, happy and giddy smile I could have on my lips coming effortlessly with how much delight and happiness I was feeling in the moment while I nuzzled and pressed my cheeks right to those big cosy feet, giving a few soft kisses on them too, right onto his pads as I cuddled so close. My hands meanwhile gently caressed and rubbed over those pads, round the back of his feet, and right between those toes of his as I was so eager to love on, pamper and care for those big feet that had carried us both around throughout the day, so eager to show him how much I cared and show him the same kindness he had me.

My tail meanwhile almost instinctually wrapped and hugged its way around Titan’s other foot paw, hugging and pressing myself as close as I possibly could and not for a second wanting to let my big friend go as I rubbed and softly kissed on those feet, massaging away with the most delicate care I could give while loving every moment of it, and enjoying every second of this as I snuggled away with him there, lost in the tenderness of it all while just adoring and loving on those big wonderful cuddly feet paws of my dear friend, and of course Titan’s company in general, feeling so lucky to have it and to be here with him as my eyes fell closed now while I cuddled myself as close as possible, Titan’s own smile softening some too seeing me cuddling so eagerly and lovingly to his feet as I let out a few more happy little squeaks and bruxes now, thinking to myself once more as I did that there truly was little better in the life of a little rat, than being in the loving company and playful care, of ones big buddy.. and being lucky enough for that buddy to be a friend like Titan.
