In the performances, the Landstrider is a minion of the Queen of the Night. She sends it out to capture the captain of the guard (cos he wronged her in some way) and it succeeds. Except that there's no way that Strider is going to allow this to happen. He declares war on the Night.

The Goblin Tinkerer is one of the most advanced of the goblins (otherwise a fairly tribalistic bunch) and figures out how the Landstrider works (it is not flesh and bone, but machine and clockwork). He confronts it here!
