These greedy creatures swarm together and raid nearby villages for food and treasure under the command of whichever one is the biggest and fattest, the so called "emperor". They hoard all their wealth deep within narrow canyons where rising water levels protect their gold for parts of the year. Once the waters become less volatile the gold has to often be regathered from down river, if they catch you with some of their gold they will call to their allies and swarm you. Although they can't breath underwater or fly, they are excellent swimmers. The Emperor often eats some of the gold which gets incorperated into its body giving it those shiny golden markings.
