Such impressive, miraculous scenes as a sunrise offer time to reflect on any number of subjects. The holiday on which I’d gone was my first in almost two years, the first time in a long time to not have something urgent on my plate, and to be away from four familiar walls. My first chance to truly exhale since the pandemic began, since getting my own home, since losing mum. I reflected on how much had changed since I had last felt this way, but also on how much had remained the same, for the better. In particular, I reflected on my family and friends, you who observe the sun from all four corners of our gentle planet. If you’re reading this, I’m so grateful for you. ^__^
The black-headed gull centre stage is probably reflecting on what to have for breakfast. And why there’s a G-Shep taking up space on his beach.
Hope you enjoy!

I know I keep saying this, but I find your writing as evocative and pleasurable as the pictures you so kindly share with us all. You just summed up a lot with a few well-chosen words that perfectly reflect the picture...there have been some changes, haven't there?
Not that the grumpy gull is all that impressed...they never are. "what am I gonna eat??" ;)

I'm hugely appreciative that you do keep saying it, good crossfolf! I'm delighted that my efforts are not for nought, especially the knowledge that I can bring a smile to the face of someone living on another continent. ^__^
