My third guitar project of this type.. This is the product of leaving a leopard trapped in a house all day, with nothing to do. >:3 I picked up my guitar at 9:00 AM, started riffing and writing it down in Guitar Pro, and this is what came out 10 hours later. I highly suggest wearing headphones if you play this, or the harmonized parts sound weird o.O
Not as much speed here as some of my other stuff, but a whole lot of complexity. The hybrid picking in the clean part is pretty tough for me, as well as the timing during the section that alternates between eight note triplets and quarter notes..
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this one.. There are a couple things I like, but more that I don't. I like the interplay between the arpeggiating guitars in the clean section, and the chaotic feeling of the distorted section that follows.. But the main riff definitely isn't my best work with pedal tones. Something about the harmonization sounds wonky. The beginning of the outro solo sounds fine, but I probably could've ended it a little better.

Yeah, I think the clean section is my favorite part.
My only suggestion (and this is just an idea) would be to add some slow continuous bass underlying everything just to help piece it all together. Without it, it's does sound really frantic but hard to follow at the same time. I think it'd be interesting to hear some very subtle low tones, just for added structure.

Oh, it definitely needs a lot more work if it were ever to become something decent :p I might play around with adding some bass, but it seems like whenever I try adding anything beyond the simple two-guitar format I usually work with, it gets all mucked up :3 Not that it isn't mucky to begin with. I r bad at musics. x3
The guitar sounds like the Guitar pro RSE D:
But as for the actual song, it does sound great and the riffs are solid but the whole thing has the same tempo and the same like 8th note thing happening...perhaps a break somewhere because after a while the constant 8th note fretting kinda gets to you

That's because it IS the GP RSE =p I lack the equipment and the skill to actually record this solidly. I make sure I never write guitar riffs/solos that I can't play, but I've never been able to record something and have it sound clean enough to me that I don't delete it immediately. If I could, I'm sure this would sound much better :< Maybe once I get my Ibanez back from Florida in two weeks, I can plug into Amplitube and see what I can do..
http://www.youtube.com/user/LeopardxGuitar For an example of how sloppily I play :< I have a little more control now than I do in most of those videos.. But all the mistakes sound horribly noticeable and glaring to my ears :3 I'll get there eventually..
And yeah, I agree with you about the tempo thing.. It could definitely use some more rhythmic variation. When I get into pedal tones, I find I have a lot of trouble with that :<
