If you weren't a local to this forest, you may find that seeing a statue of a lovely bat lady holding a priceless gem would be odd, though for locals this is quite common. The gem in question has a very... unique... way of protecting itself from those who wish to steal it. This poor creature was none the wiser, her fate instant. She's still very much aware, but unable to do anything to change her fate.
The statues made by this gem have many different fates. Some are sold to the highest bidders from around the globe. The less desirable ones are ground up and made into pavement. This particular one, however, is so beautiful that she will join the few lovely enough to enter the local museum, where she will be marveled at for a long time.
They say that the curse wears off eventually, though no statue has survived long enough to find out. Perhaps she will be a lucky one?
