(D&D) Ritmoure the Sorcerer
Ever have a character suddenly just start forming in your head while you're at work? Well, a co-worker of mine is hosting a D&D session, I was invited, I decided to bring out my old Paladin, but in the back of my head this little fellow began to take shape. After some talking, my DM seemed to like the idea of a Sorcerer in the party more than another Paladin, and so, Ritmoure was finalized! I haven't made his character sheet yet, and there is going to be a bit of Homebrewing to get this Ratfolk in 5e, but I DO have a backstory!
:Bio:
In a life before the wicked little rat who stands before you today, there was the powerful Elven Sorcerer Tori Em-Ru. An old reclusive hermit of terrible magical power, Tori Em-Ru obsessed only with making himself the most powerful Caster to have ever lived. In his hubris, Tori Em-Ru eventually thought he was powerful enough to dominate Eldritch magics as his own. Tearing open a rift between worlds, he commanded the horrific forces to yield to his will; and in a show of his power attempted to pull the power forth. Whatever cruel intelligence lied beyond the universe responded in kind, by utterly destroying the man before, and in his place, left Ritmoure: a cosmic parody of the Elf before him. Petty, simple minded, and corrupted, Ritmoure was left with a single artifact which warps his dreams whenever he is near it, convincing him to attempt to bring about the end of days, by turning the entire world into other Rat-creatures. However, so thorough a parody of Tori Em-Ru is Ritmoure, that there exists the same potential for decency that was squandered by the man before, as with a good example around him, or friends, Ritmoure could be influenced into becoming a better person, as his goals of destruction really have no reason or justification other than his wicked demeanor and appearance in his dreams.
