This is a toffee recipe I came up with back in school so I could snack on some sweets whenever I wanted :D
Active time is only about 15 minutes followed by another 25 minutes for the toffee to cool.
This is also by far the easiest way to make toffee that I was able to come up with after spending a while experimenting and tweaking things.
While it's literally 90% just heating up butter and sugar in a microwave, there's a surprising amount of finesse that goes into making toffee and confectionery in general. Oh, and be careful! The toffee easily reaches temperatures above 180°C/360°F straight out of the microwave and will instantly burn exposed skin if it gets on you!
