Put together a new reference sheet of my primary feather-sona, Roger! I was not planning on producing a fully formed reference image when I was drawing the head, however, I decided that I rather enjoyed the piece at that stage and decided he needed an updated reference sheet. I am somewhat unhappy with everything aside from the face. I require more experience with drawing hair, especially, but I believe this is somewhat decent for now... Anyway, without further ado, here is his information...

Abridged Backstory: The year was 2001. Scientists made Roger and his cousin Dominick in a lab using the ancient DNA of extant birds. He wasn't made as a fully-formed infant, however. He started out as an egg, as did his cousin. They wouldn't hatch until an entire year after their creation. The scientists eventually stopped receiving funding for this project with contributors wondering about the ethics of bringing dinosaurs back to life, and thus, they abandoned them somewhere where they believed the two wouldn't be found by any passing civilian.

Roger and Dominick were dropped in 2 different spots, far away from each other, and thus were separated. The two share the same birthday, being created and hatched on the same day. Luckily enough, they were also found by 2 people who happened to be siblings and thus were able to meet again later in life. Roger's mother was a barn owl who was married to a male great-horned owl. He had 2 siblings who happened to be a hybrid of the two species. He was the only dinosaur in his family, something he had taken notice of. He always wondered why he was the only member of his family that was a dinosaur, and why he never saw any other person of his own species. One day, though, his parents decided to tell him the truth; that he was adopted and that his particular species had died off millions of years ago- they were extinct. He found it devastating at first but was also glad his parents had told him. It hit him hard for about a few hours, but eventually, he stopped feeling so sad about it. Instead, he was intrigued and wanted to learn more about dinosaurs in general and about other extinct species and how they got "wiped out".

At school, he had trouble making friends. He was considered an oddball for reasons unknown and nobody ever wanted to hang out with him. In his neighborhood, he had only 2 friends. He was also considered a bit of an outcast there, though people would occasionally talk to him. This, alongside treatment from his oldest sibling and later treatment from more of his other relatives, gave him low self-esteem that he has been attempting to combat for over a decade.

Eventually, his parents got divorced and he was forced to move in with his maternal grandmother. More coming soon...

Detailed Physical Description: Roger has long, straight rose-red hair that goes down to his shoulders, usually styled with long bangs that cover his left eye and corners of his face. His scleras are a sand brown hue, his irises a dark hickory brown color. His teeth are a shade lighter than his scleras and are all sharp. His face is typical of that of a dromaeosaurid. His scales are cedar brown hue, his feathers a chocolate brown. His feathers cover parts of his face, though this is usually masked by his hair, and go from his neck to his upper elbows to above his knees, they also cover the upper side of his tail. His tail is long, straight, narrow, and has a large tuft of red feathers at the tip. He normally wears glasses and dark clothing that cover his arms and legs.

Dad: Bitter, estranged relationship. His father adored him when he was young, but after the divorce from his mother, would abuse him both physically and verbally due to Roger's behavioral problems. They have not made amends and likely never will.
Siblings: His oldest brother used to bully him as a child, as he would do to everyone and caused his primary trauma related to food and eating, and therefore, he has grown to resent him, especially as he is unable to apologize for the time being due to having a severe cognitive disability. Roger and his older brother have had an ambivalent past, as most siblings have, but are now on decent terms with each other. During early childhood, they were decent friends, started having fights with each other as they got older, and now barely have arguments with each other.

* Although his hair may appear to be humanoid, it is actually made entirely of feathers. It is easy for other characters to guess while touching it directly or watching him pull a piece of it out.
* Roger wears prescription glasses, but he is simply near-sighted and doesn't need to rely on them to see everything (just stuff at a considerable distance).
* Roger has Bipolar Type II (Manic Depression), Asperger's Syndrome, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
* SEXUAL: Roger is a glutiophile/harbors vorolagnia (swallowing fetishism). The only thing that arouses him.
