I figured I'd try sketching things out some with the different styles I have. On the left is the tried and true circles. One the right is the anatomic way I've been trying out recently. In the middle, I attempted a hybrid between the two. Rib cage and circle for the lower body, then using the ovals and cones on the arms before tracing around them, and doing the legs the way I've done them the past day or so. I think I'll be going with the hybrid method for now. It takes longer to do, but I think it's the best looking thus far.

Looks good, yeah. The original one is definitely the way I do it- But working with more anatomy stuff will absolutely help you do better with it in general. Maybe switch back to original once you're really well versed in anatomy stuff?
Oh, and by the way- The arms are definitely looking better. I like how you did the ones on the left- but for the lower one, I'd make it end like, around the circle.
For example, this is the shape I do them in (Though I change them a little bit with the final layer, or add a little connecting thingy if it's at an angle, of course.)
