Thanks very much , armian!! The chairs are known as Muskoka chairs because they are seen everywhere here from townsfolk like me to cottages and are very popular here in cottage country. Their name directly connects to here even if the chairs are used somewhere other than in the district of Muskoka. The chairs are one of them symbols of my region.
Segwun is perhaps the most well known symbol of Muskoka. If you're on any part of Lake Muskoka you might see her on a cruise. It's often that I hear her whistle when I'm near the lake. She even has her own song:
Oh the Lakes of Muskoka are rugged and wide now for their beautiful shores,
But their bays and islands drive steam-boating men made with their rocks and channels gloried,
And once a proud fleet sailed these waters so deep they were captained by hard bitten men,
Now the rest of the fleet are loster a sleep but the Segwun is steaming again,
The Segwun is steaming again,
The Segwun is steaming again,
Come and spread the glad news of the 100-mile-cruise for the Segwun is steaming again,
When they built her they called her the Nipissing II from the shipyards of Glasgow she came,
After 40 years of service they built her a new and gave her present proud name,
She sailed as the Segwun for 33 years and sat on the dock 24,
The Ontario Road Builders stience her out and the Segwun is steaming again,
The Segwun is steaming again,
The Segwun is steaming again,
Come and spread the glad news of the 100-mile-cruise for the Segwun is steaming again,
She's two sixty tons with a fresh coat of paint she's completely refitted throughout,
When she raced with the flagship they made her fall back because her speeding will crack out,
She's got double screws and turn in her tracks or reverse to the wind without fear,
That's good on coal smoke which pours from her stack, no stinking diesel fuel here,
The Segwun is steaming again,
The Segwun is steaming again,
Come and spread the glad news of the 100-mile-cruise for the Segwun is steaming again,
When the crazy old city has her sightings and it can't see the words of the trees,
And up to Muskoka and stick out your neck for a fresh forest green,
The signing and the wavelets dance their old dance while the waves on the rocks clap along you'll go back to the city a satisfied soul perhaps even singing this song,
The Segwun is steaming again,
The Segwun is steaming again,
Come and spread the glad news of the 100-mile-cruise for the Segwun is steaming again
