Ohh! Nomnomnom. I've never seen a kingfisher in person.. are there a lot of them over there? I believe that's the perfect continent for them.

Arr but this be a Kookaburra different to a kingfisher, but similar in shape and size ^-^ I've personally never seen a kingfisher in person before tho! >>>

There are HEAPS of kookaburras around here, always laughing during the day ^___^ they're beautiful, but these reserve ones have had too many tourists and human food around... a little more jerky!

Ahmm, I've always thought kookaburras are a type of kingfisher, but not the kingfisher you'd typically call a kingfisher (as their name doesn't have 'kingfisher' in it). It's all very kingly and fishery, but the laughing sort is quite amusing I'm sure.
