But... it happens all the time, with a plethora of examples in history. Sometimes judges cowtow to peer pressure, it's shit but it happens.
This is an element commonly used by story writers to provide a sense of empathy towards a character... this has been done well in my opinion.

It most certainly does.
One of my good friends got accused of something similar, then railroaded into the system. He's one of the kindest, honest, hard-working people you ever met, forced to scrape by forever because of the stigma alone. And even when he built a case around getting it overturned, the Judge simply ignored it.
He was a label. A thing. No longer a person.
The miscarriage of Justice ruins lives, yo.

He was in Prison for over a year, got paroled and tried to go and live life again, staying way away from most people...
But even now, over 20 years later, he is denied jobs because of the stigma alone; regardless of how he's never committed a crime since. He's had his own family (thank gawd he was able to have one) called into question because people didn't believe they were his biological kids. Stigma vilifies absolutely, and it needs to die.
He was Savagely beaten and abused in prison... and he faced worse on the outside; being followed home, spit on, beaten, treated as the scum of the Earth...
Imagine this big, broad 6'4" guy, obviously well-built, curled into a tiny little ball crying; terrified to even wake up in the morning, because he has to do it all again...

Maybe... but he described in detail how much it crops up... like he hated interviews; because he would pass them with flying colors: people would be jazzed about his skills, and work ethic and honesty. To the point in one where they were training him *during* one...
...then comes the fateful last question...
...and he has to be honest...
...and despite the time difference... you watch the merry attitude die... all life sucked out of the room... you watch the interviewer's face quickly devolve from excitement, to apathy... to disdain... and in some cases pure loathing...
He was pushed aside from many jobs he was almost overqualified for, and would have been an asset, only to be replaced by some *doof* with a spotty work history (and long-running drug issues, and signs of continuing) who they fire in like 2 weeks and then open back up...
... I do hope it goes away too...

Yes, miscarriages of justice do happen, but not like this.
This is drivel.
I wrote it before as a comment to the courtroom scene:
No judge would react like the judge in this comic. It is ridiculous, stupid and unrealistic. If a judge, any judge, would recieve an envelope with a threatning message like that, several things would happen:
1. He would call the bailiff to quietly send the police to his house and put his family under police protection.
2. He would have every single one of the protesters arrested, since they are suspects in extortion of a judge, tortious interference with jurisdiction and contempt of court.
3. A large-scale man hunt on the person who handed him the envelope would instantly be instigated, as she is the prime suspect. The security cameras in every court house will help with that.
4. The envelope would instantly be handed over to forensics to secure finger prints, DNA samples etc. They can even find out what camera was used for the photos, where they have been developed, at which store the paper used for the message was bought. It is impossible to hand something like this over to a judge of all people and NOT get caught.
5. The judge would hand off the case, as he his now personally involved and now biased.
Also if they find out that that little lynchmob was instigated by the Panda bitch, she would be indicted for tortious interference with jurisdiction and contempt of court. Remember social media always leaves a paper trail.
I get it, the MC needs a tragic backstory, but this here is to outlandisch, too ridiculous, insultingly stupid and ruins the comic. It will forever be a stain on Dr. Javis work.

This all could be a feasible path for a judge to take.
This however does not offset the fact that we don't know how every judge would react if handed such an envelope. Some might take the route you described, a few may cave in. The ones that cave in might do so in slightly altered ways than the one in the comic.
This brings me to another point, even if it was exaggerated; it was done for story and plot. It dosent have to accurately describe situations like this that happen in our world.

NO.
No judge would do this.
Judges are trained for shit like this. It is outlandish and takes me out of the story. And I was no the only one who thinks that.
And I wrote it before, I know it was done for the stories sake, to give the MC his tragic backstory. But it was done ridiculusly bad. Its shit. I am in no position to tell Dr. Javi what to do, but IMO, the only way to salvage this comic is to scrap these pages and rewrite the backstory. There is no shame in scarpping bad pages.

Seeing as though you're German, you'd be surprised how corrupt police, courts, and the law are in places such as the US, especially if you're non-white and worse if you have no evidence to back up your own defense... and many police officers are given a quota for arrests made every month, or else they face pay deductions. This also can lead to many false arrests with planted evidence just to reach that goal.
This is, unfortunately, a reality to many of us. Regardless of the fact it comes off to you as a nightmarish hell that would never feasibly happen, the concept of "justice" ultimately is judged by those in power.

Thank you! Oh, I know that my work isn't perfect and it can never be, but I'll keep working hard to improve as much as possible and constructive criticism is always welcome.
That being said, that person was certainly way more intense than they should reasonably be. I've muted them for now, so they stop bothering other readers.

Gezz this kid drew the short stick on life everything just scores him over
There has to be some point where things get better
But judging by the pages where he's older that's unlikely😞 poor guy😞
And what about that girl did she get what was coming surely someone caught on to what happened at the trial
