All tomorrows fanart? 😳😳
Tree People were striders that Survived using their color change as camouflage almost octopus-like in nature and Went to the trees. As result their body mass reduced dramatically to half their original size, while retaining a lightweight but durable skeleton that enabled them to leap from tree to tree for shelter and food source of wood boring megainsects, fruits and plant matter. Their fingers specialized enough that they would use their sharp claws to hold themselves very tightly on trees and dig for food sources, while their snouts elongated to reach for said food better. Tree folk also started making shelter from plant matter and hollowed trees and created villages, cities from there.
Curiously enough, their stretchy and big skin flaps while still help them maintain their temperature, with time, became display structures, including the testes for male individuals, almost in an anole-like fashion. The picture above shows a female individual that dresses up in a counterculture movement, her 'comb' being cut and slightly stylized to the predators of the land and wearing a fluffy coat to mimic their feathers.
