Still getting a handle on this one. It's pretty much fresh off of the press, since I wrote the entire song last night in the matter of 10 minutes, and just started brushing it up today.
It's a one-take, which is the standard for the Lyrical Treason and Plot project, which has been on the back burner for a while.
So I figured I'd throw some gas on the fire.

We're all liars and thieves, jokers and queens
We're all hypocrites hiding from dead memories
We're all lovers and slaves, one foot in our graves
The other tap-dancing for rain
While our fathers were soldiers the war never ends
We're all children born with guns in our hands
We keep fighting their war 'till the day that we die
Without ever wondering why
Now I claim not to be brave
But merely ignorant, young and naive
I see the battlefields blasted but don't understand
The savagery with which we treat our fellow man
I see children crying so far away
I see families rebuilding from our crass mistakes
I look up at that flag, and then I understand
We painted that red with the blood from our hands
Now I claim not to be strong
I'm merely willing to admit when I'm wrong
Seems like a talent we once had, but traded away
For obedience, servitude, and apathy
So we buy their protection; sell our rights away
Then we sit around wondering why we have no say
Through ignorant eyes we see democracy
And refuse to acknowledge this fascist regime

This ain't science, and I'm no superstar...xP. I like to think that I never sing completely in-key =D.
I'd love to try this with a full band, but this town just doesn't have that to offer, and I'm no good with programming beats and such. I'll give it a try in a slightly lower key once I get new strings for my Dean. I broke a string, and finally ran out of replacements...but now I'm totally broke and can't afford new ones xD.

Not very often. But it seems like I break a string every single time I play Stop The World lately. Dead serious. The last three times I've had to replace strings was after playing Stop The World. I've had to remove it from the list of originals I play for a set list.
I've gone through all of 5 sets of strings in the last two years, so I can't really complain. Hell, I still have most of those strings left over. The only string I don't have a replacement for is the G, since it always breaks when I play that one freaking song.
