It was almost a favour to an enthusiastic fan who had acquired some birthday money earlier, and decided to blow it all on artwork. I still wonder why not only spend it all on art work ow mine, but also old fannish publications, as well an old costume of sorts of mine, however, I was flattered, and so I agreed to doing the artwork. As usual, I got carried away with the work in development, and spend a month or two on the drawing. Worse ... I wasn't satisfied with the results, and when I send the fan his copy I decided that I would re-do the drawing with an important change. That took me most of another two months... I never liked doing work twice, and it doesn't get any easier as I get older. The only important change was of the small creature siting on Saara Mar's lap. The fan wanted the drawing to include a House Gamin along with Saara. But I had long ago moved on, and haven't done anything with Gamin's for decades. Instead, I decided to replace the Gamin with Kiki Fraggle. Kiki is small, but at least twice or three times the size of a Gamin. Remember, Fraggles in the real world would be about the size of a Muppet. I might then have been done, but I decided to add a little bit of grey tone. The whole work ought to have been done more carefully, perhaps added more background behind the wooden verandah, but there has been just too much for me to do in inverse proportion to what I felt able to do. This seemed like a reasonable compromise with my time and ambitions.
