I'm actually surprised that I drew this. Huzzah for self improvement! ^^
Drawn to "Caring Is Creepy" by the Shins, which I kinda regard as Melissa's unofficial theme song. She kind of strikes me as the type that'd listen to the mopey, indie stuff. On a related note, I HAVE resumed work on the story from which this scene is taken, but I ain't giving a time table for a release...sea turtles and all that, mates.
It's a luscious mix of words and tricks
That let us bet when we know we should fold
On rocks i dreamt of where we'd stepped
And of the whole mess of roads we're now on.
Cookies to whoever can get the reference on the poster...and yes, I changed Pembrough up a bit.

Great pic. I love the partial tailtuck - suddenly scared!
If the shirt was up a little higher, the diaper thing would be more clear. As it is, well, most of the time when people are scared, things down there get darker instead of whiter. However, I don't think anyone ever said art needed to be fully apparent. Some mystery adds wonder.
Did they trade stuffies?

Various things. The characters were interesting enough (Those primary two at least) that I could sympathize with them, which is always good (Especially Pem. I loved Pem). The inclusion of the diaper content is handled in one of the better ways I've seen (When they're not the focus because to the character they're more of a hassle, it's a good thing. I find really highlighting them only works in certain cases). Plus it's got the whole anachronism thing going for it (I greatly enjoy the ren faire, and have considered joining the SCA, and make chainmail armor and jewelry in my spare time. This story has even inspired me to one day weave a chainmail hauberk for one of my plushies because it'd be adorable), so it catches my interest there. I'm also a sucker for a blackmail plot. And the setting for it resonates with me heavily because I live in Arizona, and went to a highschool with definite similiarities. Small school, block schedule, some of the classes took place in a row of indentical smaller structures off to the side of the main building. So, in all, there's familiarity, so I like it there, I can sympathize with and like the characters, so I like it there. The diaper aspect is done well which can be a little hard to do and isn't, in my opinion, overly flaunted, so I like it there. It's got the anachronism element which is one of my major interest, so I like it there. And the blackmail is just the cherry on top.
I'll beat a dead horse into the ground, because I'm sure this is long dead. But anyhow, I have to agree with you. I love the stories that Reva writes. The plot is rich, well thought out. It's like a diaper story that's...not. That element isn't the main focus, and that's just great.
I know that this is... 12 years since you uploaded this pic, but will we ever get to read this part of the story? TSIYE is such a great story, and I know you have a backlog of ones you have also left unfinished and want to complete, but I still can't help but wish for the next of this one to come out.
