Right. Although the story got off to a good start in the early 90s, it was debunked as an urban legend within a few years, especially on "Mythbusters".

true, but i will say that they didn't really stay true to the myth they attached them to the roof, not the back end add a bump or two (or a ramp) and you might catch some air...
( I seem to recall them revisiting that one and the car blew up on the ramp)

I know I've seen that junction somewhere before in my travels of the state, its out in the middle of nowhere. you could take a crap in the middle of the road with constipation and not see another soul for at least 45 minuets. if you broke down there you'd have better luck escaping from the prison in globe....

Uh, dude? Panhandling doesn't work too well on the highway; people drive by too fast to give you anything. Try it again in a city or town.

Reminds me of my days in those regions. Kinda wish I was back there. More than kinda, actually. I'm in Tennessee, near Nashville, and the highs have been 90+ since early June. Not too bad, you say? Well, the humidity is frequently higher than the temp. I would much rather be in a dry climate, I'm desert born and bred. This wet stuff is killing me.
