Edmonton Transit Service 8014 is a 2020 Proterra ZX5 MAX bus. Having been extensivly tested with Edmonton, Alberta's extreme weather in 2019, ETS and Edmonton City Coucil decided that these buses would best serve Edmonton as the city begins to phase out it's diesel fleet over the next 10 years.
In my previous photo of these buses, depicted was Route 15 - Mill Woods Express. The old system, named Horizon 2000, has been phased out, replaced with what I call, Horizon 2020. Depicted is route 500X - Meadows Express, which replaced old route 90. South of the North Saskatchewan River, Route 15 was replaced by Route 510X, roughly following the Valley Line Southeast alignment.
In the background, Bonnie Doon LRT Station on the Valley Line Southeast is nearing completion, and it's the same story through out the line, with Bombardier/Alstom Flexity Freedom LRVs undergoing testing between the Gerry Wright Ops and Maintenance facility and near the Grey Nuns LRT Stop. The LRT line is expected to open before the end of 2021. (Still better than the TTCs Line 5 Eglinton progress)
